Set on an elevated rural property at Budgee Budgee, this project was commissioned as a long-term family residence designed to embrace the surrounding landscape and capture sweeping views across the Mudgee region.
From the outset, the brief was clear: to create a highly customised home that responded directly to the site, maximised natural light, and provided generous, connected living spaces for family life. Rather than adapting a standard floorplan, the design was developed specifically for the property, ensuring every room was carefully positioned to take advantage of the outlook, aspect, and unique characteristics of the land.
The result is a distinctive H-shaped residence that balances privacy and connection, with separate wings linked by expansive central living spaces. This configuration allows the home to frame the surrounding views while creating sheltered outdoor areas and a seamless relationship between indoor and outdoor living.
Designed as a forever home, the project prioritises comfort, energy efficiency, functionality, and timeless design. Every element has been thoughtfully considered to support modern family living while maintaining a strong connection to the natural beauty of its rural setting.
